Podcast: Daniel Hillis, Applied Minds

Thursday, June 23rd, 2005

I finally got my website running again after the move, so let’s see if this post makes it up OK.

Now that I live in North County, I’ve got a chance to commute by train to work a few times a week, and that means I have a chance to listen to some podcasts. This morning I listened to this fascinating talk by Daniel Hillis, founder of Thinking Machines and more recently of Applied Minds. In this talk, he walks through some amazing things his company is working on; the mass spectrometer screening of blood and a public shared database are pretty compelling. Take a listen yourself.
